Built
1911, of local stone
Rooms
Four, one per guest
The pool
38 degrees, fed by the spring
Sauna
Cedar, with a cold plunge
A stone house from 1911, built on the shore where the hot water comes out of the ground. We kept the walls, the stove and the silence.
The spring
The water comes out of the ground at 38 degrees, summer and winter, and runs through the pool and out into the lake. Nothing is added to it, and it is changed every night.
The rooms
Four rooms around the pool, each with its own bath, a window on the lake and no clock. The walls are the original stone, a metre thick, so the rooms are cool in July and warm in January.
People arrive talking and leave without saying much. That is the house working.
The sauna
A cedar sauna at the end of the house, three rounds and a cold plunge straight into the lake. The stove is the one from 1911, relined.
